Have you ever heard the story of the Australian Aborigine who got a new boomerang, and then spent the rest of his life trying to throw away his old one? A lot of us know the struggle of trying to throw away addiction and destructive behavior patterns. So often there’s a “boomerang effect.” Our Morph series will explore how to “break the boomerang” this coming weekend.
I’ll also take a few moments to address a destructive pattern that we don’t always think we need help to overcome: codependency and enabling. It’s not always easy to recognize on the surface, nor is it easy to break out of. Sometimes the very thing we think is loving and merciful could be enabling in disguise.
Come this weekend with someone in tow! A person you know could be one invitation away from having a life-changing experience.
Don’t forget how helpful the Morph testimony videos can be when it comes to inviting someone to join you this weekend. You can access them on either of The Branch’s Facebook pages: FB is https://www.facebook.com/thebranchfarmersbranch/, and VR is https://www.facebook.com/thebranchvr/. The testimonies are also embedded in the video of the sermons.
Elder Nomination Process
Finally, please remember to share with us the names of those you believe could serve as elders in our community of faith. The deadline for recommendations is this coming Sunday. You can read more about the process and share your recommendations here.
Grace and Peace,
See You This Weekend!
