|"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ~ Matthew 28:19-20|
Go means living life out in the real world with the intent to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Go means being aware of Jesus’ call in Matthew 28 at ALL TIMES, no matter where we are. It also means realizing what God has done in your life and being able to share that testimony with others. Compassion is an integral part of sharing the love and hope of Jesus to people in our hurting world. Actions speak louder than words and when we show kindness and love with the intent to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, His work is being done.
At The Branch, we encourage everyone to get involved in serving their community in one way or another. Whether it's on your own, or in the context of a church-sponsored program, we hope you'll answer the call to show the love of Christ to the community you live in and take seriously the responsibility we have to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our world.
► Global Missions
► Local Church-Sponsored Go Opportunities:
When school takes a break, so do the healthy breakfasts and lunches that students in our community rely on. We have partnered with Metrocrest Services to distribute a sack full of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to families in our neighborhood. This project runs each time school takes an extended break, such as Spring Break, Summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
For an entire weekend, we go out into our neighborhoods to repair homes, clean yards, serve food, and much more! This is an ALL-CHURCH effort organized by our Go Team.
Back-to-School Supply Drive
As school starts each year, the financial demands on families increase. Each July/August, we collect school supplies for children in the Carrollton/Farmers Branch area who are in need of assistance.
We partner with area schools to identify children who may be in extra need through Christmas. Members of The Branch adopt children and help provide them with an outfit and toy.
► Local Organizations
Here is a list of the organizations The Branch currently supports to help those in need.
The people of City Square don’t fight poverty for the poor—they fight poverty with the poor. Their 22-year commitment to addressing the root causes of poverty, both on an individual and systemic level, combined with their unyielding commitment to stewardship (over 90 cents of each dollar goes directly to services for those in need) makes CitySquare a proven leader in the community and beyond.
The mission of Metrocrest Services is to provide emergency assistance and comprehensive programs to move families toward self-sufficiency; it has served residents of Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Coppell, and parts of Denton County for 39 years. This organization assists with rent, utility payments, food, clothing, medical prescriptions, and more; and its employment program provides individuals with support for a successful work search.
Christian Community Action
For more than 35 years, Christian Community Action has been feeding, sheltering, educating and training families in need within 42 communities throughout Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Wise counties. This organization seeks to give struggling families the tools and confidence to succeed; each family’s commitment to utilize these tools and support are what leads to transformation into a more productive, successful life. Sales from items donated to three area resale stores provide more than $5 million gross revenue annually to the ministry.
North Dallas Shared Ministries
NDSM's mission is to help low-income people assume as much responsibility for their lives as they are able by providing appropriate emergency assistance, access qualification for health and community programs, promote their wellness and financial independence, and develop resource materials that can lead them to additional services and support.
