Go Weekend

Each year in June, we "Go" into our neighborhoods to share the love of God. We want to help our neighbors to experience God’s work in their lives. Even though there are a lot of people attending The Branch every weekend, don’t feel like your contribution to the work of the church is meaningless. The truth is, it takes all of us joining together to impact our community. We need you to be willing to join with us on this mission!

Go Weekend 2015
June 12-14

Get ready to go! For this special weekend, it's all hands on deck to help people in our community! Make some room in your schedule for a whole day, or just an hour here or there.  There will be plenty to do for young and old, strong and weak.  You can participate!

Here's how you can get involved:

1. Pray

Pray about the weekend, and offer it to the Lord in service. Ask Him where He wants you to serve and when.

Psalm 25:12 - Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.

Psalm 31:3 - Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.

2. Create a Profile

If you haven't already done so, create your profile here. If your Go Profile is already set up from a previous project, continue to Step 3.

When you set up your profile, sign up for as much availability as you have, realizing that our goal is for everyone who feels called to work will have at least one job for the weekend. We will try our hardest to fill up the times you have given, but often the needs don't match up with the availability. The best way to get the jobs you want is to go to the web page and choose a job (see step 3). Thanks for your flexibility!

3. Sign Up for Specific Projects

Choose from a list of specific projects (jobs, times, and locations) here. This list will grow as projects are added.  Please know that each spot of availability is important and you will be counted on to serve at that specific time. Choose as many hours as you can work that weekend.

4. Suggest a Service Opportunity

Success not only depends on you signing up to work AND choosing jobs, but it also depends on you submitting jobs.

It's your neighbors we're trying to serve . . . your community. The needs come from your connections. The best job sites we've had have come from members submitting them. Let us know who needs help, and we'll try our best to serve them. Don't wait on "the church" to come up with stuff for you to do. You are the church! You can suggest work here.

5. Tell Others

Let others know what service opportunities you have selected so you can work side by side with your buddies while you are meeting new ones. Send them to this webpage!

6. Share Your Stories

Let us know what God did in your life as a result of serving Him.
You can do that by sending an email to, or by posting pictures and stories on your Facebook status with the hashtag: #goweekend.

Thank you in advance for being Jesus in our community, and for serving people who could never pay you back!

I Peter 4:10-11 (NIRV) - God's gifts of grace come in many forms. Each of you has received a gift in order to serve others. You should use it faithfully. If you speak, you should do it like one speaking God's very words. If you serve, you should do it with the strength God provides. Then in all things God will be praised through Jesus Christ. Give him the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
