He was a doctor, but the best medicine Luke ever gave the world was the gospel he wrote. We start taking the medicine this weekend with an infusion out of Luke 1. Join us Thursday night (6:45 VR Campus) or Sunday morning at either campus! Come with guests in tow! Hopefully you’re soaking a little in Luke 1 this week in your Gospel of Luke Scripture Journal. It’s good medicine! If you’d like a sample of my time in my journal in Luke 1 to prime the pump, you can view a three-minute video I posted on my Facebook page.
A Little Help Reading and Reflecting
Reading and reflecting can be challenging for some of us. I’ve found it helpful to ask a few of the same questions every time I read a passage of Scripture. And while you’re at it, pray for the Lord to give you insight along the way. Reflect on what I’m saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. (2 Timothy 2:7)
*What did you read that you hadn’t noticed before?
*What touched you?
*What challenged you?
*Is there anything you not understand?
*Is there anything you read that intersects with where you are today?
Christmas Candlelight Services
There are so many options to work with for inviting people to join you for a Christmas Candlelight service this year. This is a significant opportunity for us to join together and help others encounter the Christ at the center of Christmas. All of our regularly scheduled services the weekend before Christmas Eve will be Christmas Candlelight services, beginning with the Thursday night service, December 20th. We will also have a service on each campus on December 24th. There will be a total of seven services to choose from across our two campuses. Communion and candlelight will be a part of every service, and each will last a little less than an hour.
