A few years ago, a nationwide poll asked, “What word or phrase would you most like to hear?”
The most common answer given was, “I love you.” The second? “You’re forgiven.” The third? “Supper’s ready.”
This weekend marks the beginning of a new series for July: “Meals with Jesus.” There are many stories of Jesus around a table throughout the Gospels. Eating with Jesus was an experience, to say the least. Depending on who you were, it could have been shocking, heart-warming, infuriating, hilarious, or life-changing – but never a dull moment! These stories have some wonderful implications for our lives today. I’m excited about the month ahead with you! This coming weekend, Ryan Rainey at our VR Campus and Jason Schumacher at our FB Campus will be kicking off the series, and I’ll take the baton the following week.
With this weekend being a holiday weekend leading into July 4th and our Branch Camp going on through the weekend, we will be not be having Kids Branch this Sunday on our campuses (this includes nursery). This will be an opportunity for families to worship together. There will still be nursery through pre-k provided for our Thursday night service. Kids Branch will return the following weekend.
Speaking of Branch Camp, will you join me in praying for our middle school and high school students this Friday through Tuesday? This will be a fun and important five-day stretch for them in their faith journey!
Grace and Peace,
