There are really just three kinds of prayer: “Help! Thanks! Wow!” (Anne Lamott)
Twenty years ago, I was headed into my first Thanksgiving without my father. Four years ago, it was my first Thanksgiving without mom. Some of you are headed into your first Thanksgiving this year without someone you’ve always known, or have known for a long time, being there. May God grant you the peace I found those Thanksgivings, and the capacity to remember missing loved ones with gratefulness, while also looking forward to seeing them again.
We’re less than two weeks away from beginning our journey through the gospel of Luke! Have you snagged your Luke Scripture Journal? We still have some in our lobbies! And who are you inviting to be with you for the kickoff of the series the first weekend in December?
Thanks to all of you who helped provide Thanksgiving for numerous families in need around both of our campuses this past Saturday! And thanks to all who are participating in our Angel Tree effort as well!
I hope you have a rich Thanksgiving experience this week!
(As a reminder, there is no Thursday night service this week. It’ll return next week.)
See You Sunday!
Grace and Peace,
