I Love My Church?
It’s going to be a big weekend this coming weekend! We’ll take some time in all of our services, including our first service on Thursday night, to bless and pray over students, teachers, administrators, coaches, staffs, and schools. Invite a family that has students, or someone you know who works in education! It’ll be a great opportunity for them to know they’re not alone! On another note, many of you have given toward the purchase of school supplies and uniforms for underprivileged children in our community. Thank you!
We’ll also kick off a new short series: “I Love My Church.” 1 Peter 2:17 calls us to “love the family of believers.” That’s a pretty tall order for some. I often hear, “I love Jesus, I just can’t stand the church, Chris.” It’s no secret that people love Jesus, but struggle to love “church.” If the church could be likened to a rose, then it’s fair to say it has its thorns. But one must also consider its beauty. We’ll explore what Jesus meant when He first used the term “church,” why it matters, and what it means for each one of us. Come with friends in tow!
On a related note, I’m still interested in hearing specifically why you love The Branch. I’ve read every email I’ve received thus far and they’ve been helpful to me for our upcoming series. I would love to hear your perspective.
Grace and Peace!
See You Thursday or Sunday!
