This past Sunday in Kids Branch we learned that Jesus is Healing, while we learned about the times Jesus healed people who were blind. It was a powerful lesson. We thought about all the things we can do because we can see -- and what it would be like if we had those things taken away from us. When Jesus gave people back their sight, in many ways he was giving them back their lives. We may not need Jesus to heal our eyesight, but we all need the LIFE that comes from Him! Talk to your kids about what it means to you that Jesus gives you LIFE. And share times when you have seen Jesus bring healing to the sick or hurting.
We want our kids to memorize scripture -- to write the words of Jesus on their hearts. We will have memory verses that correspond to the different teaching points about Jesus during the year. Each memory verse will be emphasized between four and six weeks. We are going to have a fun way to motivate our kids to learn them: We are going to place the memory verses on the walls of Kids Branch, and when a child correctly recites a verse to the teacher, we will take his picture, and allow the child to place it by the verse learned. Sound good? Here’s the memory verses that we will emphasize through the end of October that correspond with “Jesus is Healing!”
Downtown Memory Verse:
“Blind people receive sight. Disabled people walk. Those who have skin diseases are healed. Deaf people hear. Those who are dead are raised to life. And the good news is preached to those who are poor.” Luke 7:22
Uptown Memory Verse:
“So Jesus replied to the messengers, "Go back to John. Tell him what you have seen and heard. Blind people receive sight. Disabled people walk. Those who have skin diseases are healed. Deaf people hear. Those who are dead are raised to life. And the good news is preached to those who are poor.” Luke 7:22
