We had a wonderful time at the State Fair on Sunday -- we are wearing all the food we enjoyed!
Saturday, October 25th, will be a fun night at the movies to see THE BOOK OF LIFE. Our own Randy Hayes (Artis Hayes's son) is a lead animator for Dallas' ReelFX Studios and this is his first feature film to be released to theaters. He previously worked on two direct to DVD movies, Open Season 2 and Open Season 3 and he also animated several Looney Toon shorts that played in theaters before feature films (the way they used to). We will meet for dinner before the movie -- time and location details forthcoming - invite your friends! Let me know if you are interested in joining us so I can keep you updated about the plans. See the synopsis below, as well as the trailer, for the movie.
"From producer, Guillermo del Toro, and director, Jorge Gutierrez, comes an animated comedy with a unique visual style. THE BOOK OF LIFE is the journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rich, with a fresh take on pop music favorites, THE BOOK OF LIFE encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future." Fox Family Entertainment
