Pour It On
This last weekend, a woman said to me in passing, “I’ve been a Christian for years, I just haven’t followed Jesus.”
She wasn’t proud of it. She was lamenting it. Her confession was profound to me because it, in a nutshell, summarizes the state of Christianity today for many in our culture. There are many who profess to be Christian, but who, in all practicality, are not following Jesus in terms of how they are going about their daily lives, relating to others, and even how they view God. And I’m right there with them on certain days. I’m shooting for having less and less of those kind of days.
Between our daily readings in John and our time together on the weekends, we’re involved in a steady immersion in Jesus. I hope and pray it is blessing your life in a practical way, and has ripple-effects on the lives of others!
This coming weekend, beginning with our Thursday night service, we’ll be in John 12 together, which is where we’ve been reading this week. We’ll talk about “pouring it on” when it comes to our devotion to Jesus. Come with guests in tow!
If you haven’t done it yet, take a moment and download The Branch App. If you have the app but haven’t seen the facelift, check it out. It’s a handy resource to have when it comes to watching past messages, checking in on the weekend, giving, registration for events, etc.
Grace and Peace,
See You Soon!
