Reality And Control
We kicked off our “Wide-Awake” series last weekend, which addresses some realities of life that we often don’t like to think about and prefer to dismiss. The irony is that in our refusal to think about them or tendency to dismiss them, we’re actually held back from making the most of the one life we have to live to the glory of God and for the good of others, including ourselves. If you missed last weekend’s message, “You’re Going to Die,” I encourage you to listen/watch it.
This weekend, we’ll consider another reality – “You’re Not in Control.” We know this, but so much of the world we live in pulls us toward the illusion that we are. This creates all kinds of frustration and unhealthy expectations that have real-world ramifications for marriage, parenting, friendships, work, and our own attitude towards God and faith. Scripture has much to affirm when it comes to this reality, and waking up to it can make all the difference in the world.
Invite someone to join you this Thursday night or Sunday! Easter is not just a day on a calendar. It’s a way of life.
Reality . . . is found in Christ. (Colossians 2:17)
VR AND FB CAMPUS UPDATES
We anticipate our newly remodeled sanctuary at the VR Campus being fully unveiled on Mother’s Day weekend. We also anticipate breaking ground in July on the children’s building.
Did you know that this summer will be the 30th anniversary of our Farmers Branch Campus? Plans are under way to celebrate the faithfulness of God in the context of that location later this year.
See You Thursday or Sunday!
Grace and Peace,
