Regarding Jesus As A Write-In Candidate
I heard someone say the other day, “I’m going with a write-in candidate. Jesus.” I love the sentiment. After pondering it for a moment, it occurred to me that Jesus doesn’t need to be elected. He’s already been declared King. There’s nothing left to do but surrender to Him. Daily.
Yes, by all means, vote. But don’t put off surrendering to Him.
As my good friend Randy Harris puts it, “We’re citizens of the kingdom of God, and the kingdom of God is never in trouble.”
I’m excited about unpacking the next message with you in the series “. . . but GOD.” I’ll take my first stab at it tonight at our first service of the weekend at the VR Campus at 6:45. Whether you’re coming tonight or on Sunday, read Romans 5:5-8, and come with a hungry heart and guests in tow!
Finally, I’m excited to give you a preview of what I’ll be doing with you, preaching-wise, at The Branch in 2017. Among a few of the series I have planned are back-to-back journeys through the Gospel of John and the book of Revelation. We’ll also dive into a series revolving around a subject that I’ve often been asked about in my 16 years with The Branch – Heaven.
Grace and Peace To You All!
