We embark on a new series this weekend – “The Calling.” We’re going to consider some of the great stories of God calling men and women in Scripture. Why? Because God still calls people today. The stories in Scripture of God calling people help us discern and follow God’s calling in our lives today. Each of us has a call waiting. Let’s take the call! I’ll unpack more with you this weekend as we journey through our first story – the call of Abraham in Genesis 12:1-9. Don’t miss it and bring friends!
An epic night is around the corner for many of our dads and their daughters. The Farmers Branch Campus is in the midst of a transformation for the Princess Ball this Friday night!
RESOURCES FROM OUR LAST SERIES
We close out our 3-part series “Present: Learning To Be Where You Are” this past weekend. Thank you for your encouragement about the series as we explored our relationship with technology and its impact on our relationship with God and others. Here are those 4 books I recommended for further reading and application as you develop some “nudges” and disciplines as it relates to technology. Flourish more and flounder less!
The Tech-Wise Family (Andy Crouch)
12 Ways Your Phone is Changing You (Tony Reinke)
Right Click: Parenting Your Teenager In A Digital Media World (Fuller Youth Institute)
Reclaiming Conversation: The Power Of Talk In A Digital Age (Sherry Turkle)
UPDATE ON THE VISTA RIDGE CAMPUS AND OUR PORTABLE BAPTISTRY
The overhaul of the auditorium is in full swing. The front of it has been completely gutted, duct work is being done related to a/c and heating, and we are getting in position to install a new stage. We will be using a portable baptistery the first weekend of every month for the time being with February 4th being the first time! I know some at the Vista Ridge Campus have been prayerfully considering baptism. Please contact Ryan Raineyif you’d like to schedule yours on February 4th so that we can plan accordingly.
See You Thursday night Or Sunday!
