The Greatest Sermon On Humility, Ever!
What do Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks and Ron Burgundy have in common? They’re helping me preach the next message in our Game Changer series! We’ll be talking about how Jesus changed civilization’s view of humility. We don’t always excel at practicing it, but we do esteem it. Why? And what difference can it make practically in our lives today? Come with friends in tow! It’ll be the greatest sermon ever on humility! (I couldn’t resist.)
If you missed the last message on how Jesus changed the world when it came to education, literacy, and science, check it out using the link at the bottom of this email.
This past weekend, I shared with everyone a milestone moment in the history of our church. We are now debt-free!!!! We are blessed to have two fine campuses to continue to serve as tools in the mission of God. So many of you have been sacrificially giving to this initiative over the last 6½ years. Thank you! I’m pumped about our mortgage-burning celebration on Friday night, February 7th, at the Vista Ridge Campus!
There are others who are still fulfilling a particular monetary commitment they made to help pay for the purchase of the Vista Ridge Campus and improvements on the Farmers Branch Campus. Let me encourage you to do so. We will be setting the money aside for future initiatives to the glory of God at The Branch. We don’t intend to have the amount of debt we had again in the future. Therefore, we seek to have money set aside to pay an initial installment on any significant future initiatives which we discern the Lord leading us to. Presently, we don’t know what these are, but want to be ready when the time comes and as the Lord leads.
What a blessing to have our debt removed -- and in more ways than one!
Grace and Peace,
See You This Weekend!
