Whether 8 or 80
Several weeks ago, I received a call from a 17-year-old young man who lives in another state. For several years, he lived in the home next door to us. His family wasn’t a part of any kind of church. Our boys would often invite him to The Branch, and he came a good bit. He was first exposed to the gospel in our Kids Branch ministry on Sunday morning. Before his family moved away, he was baptized at The Branch. He’s continued to grow in his relationship with Jesus since moving away. The purpose of his call to me was to express his desire to go to seminary after college and become a pastor. You never know where an invite to church might lead. I’m proud of my sons for inviting him all those years ago, and thankful for the story of Jesus being conveyed through Kids Branch.
Invite someone – whether they’re 8 or 80. There’s not a person you’ll meet who doesn’t need Jesus.
What an incredible summer thus far around The Branch! This past Tuesday, more than 170 students returned from Branch Camp, along with almost 40 adult sponsors. We were blessed with a number of kids confessing Jesus in baptism, developing relationships with peers, and growing in a faith that they own for themselves. I can’t say enough great things about our students and the team of the Next Gen ministry.
Speaking of our Next Gen ministry, I’m thrilled that our student ministers will be bringing the Word this weekend on our campuses – Josh Brake at our FB Campus and Kyle Poff at our VR Campus. I’ve heard both of their messages, and they will enlarge your heart for the Lord!
I’ll be back in action next weekend to journey through Revelation 21-22 with you.
In the meantime, don’t forget the opportunity to make a difference weekly in our Sack Summer Hunger efforts on both campuses every Saturday at 9:30 am.
Grace and Peace!
Have a Great Fourth!
