Preschool (3mo-5y)

"Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” - Matthew 19:14

First impressions are important. That’s why our curriculum is designed to give preschool children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father. The curriculum keeps it simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God all month long. It also helps children understand worship and introduces them to small group time.

The activities tickle all the senses making mastering the concepts a blast. Crazy fun activities to crafts to large group Bible story and worship time to small group Bible time, it’s all part of the plan to help a child believe three key things by the time they're five years old:
  • God made me.
  • God loves me.
  • Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

The Zoo
3 months - 2 years

The Zoo introduces your child to the great big God who made them and loves them, and created a wonderful world for them to experience.

When do they move to the next class?
As soon as a child turns two, they will leave the Zoo and join The Flower Shop class.

 The Flower Shop
2 years - 3 years (not potty trained)

The Flower Shop helps your child explore who God is and how much He loves us, and plants the seeds of a life lived with Jesus. They will participate in small group activities that teach them about the great God that we serve.

When do they move to the next class?
Unlike the Zoo, children may only move up to The Bakery class on promotion weekends which are the first weekend in January or the first weekend in June.  At these times they may only "graduate" to the next class if they are 3 years old AND are potty trained.

 The Bakery
3 years (potty trained) - 4 years

Your child will spend more time in the bakery than any other class during their preschool years. Focused on hands-on learning and ever-changing stations, this class is a recipe designed to guide little hearts and minds to a loving relationship with their creator.

When do they move to the next class?
Children who will be entering Kindergarten the following year will be allowed to move into The Library class on promotion weekend the first weekend in June.  This takes into consideration 4 and 5 year olds. We realize that every child is in a unique situation because of their varying birthdays, so we will work with you to determine the best class for your child on promotion weekend.

 The Library
Pre-Kindergarten, 4 or 5 years

The Library begins the process of preparing preschoolers to move to Elementary. This class is comprised of kids who will be entering kindergarten the following year, ideally establishing friendships that will grow throughout their school years.  They will learn what it means to have a relationship with Jesus, and that He wants to live in our hearts forever!

When do they move to the next class?
Children will "graduate" into the Kindergarten class on promotion weekend the first weekend of June (the summer before school starts).

FYI for All Parents

  • When dropping off, be sure to communicate any food allergies or other medical restrictions your child's teacher should be aware of.

  • Get to know the teachers in your child's class room. We strive to have volunteers who are consistent in each class so that relationships can be formed over time. The better you get to know the teachers, the better relationships they can have with your kids.

  • Children in the Flower Shop, Library, and Bakery classes will be given a snack of goldfish crackers during the service.

  • Children in the Flower Shop who are not potty trained will need a diaper bag with the correct size of diaper.

  • Please read our policies on security in Kids Branch.

  • We encourage all parents to participate in volunteering in Kids Branch in some capacity. This ministry relies on the support of new parents to keep up with the growing number of kids. So join the Kids Branch Team!

FYI for Parents of Babies in The Zoo (Nursery)

  • Be sure to bring a diaper bag with the correct size of diaper and any other items your baby needs, including a cup that your child can drink out of.

  • A snack of Cheerios will be provided during the service.

  • We will provide you with a pager that will allow us to contact you during the service if your child needs your attention.
